The unusually clear light in the North East is particularly favoured by landscape artists and photographers.

High Force, near Middleton-in-Teesdale, is England’s highest waterfall

A little further afield takes you to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Cragside House, Wallington House, Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, Holy Island, and the beautiful Northumberland Coast.
